Terms of Service
Last updated: July 26, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Kiku: PDF Notes & Audio mobile application (“App”) operated by Zander Modaress-Razavi (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Use of the App
Kiku is a PDF reading, annotation, synchronization, and AI text-to-speech application. You may use it for personal, educational, and professional purposes where you have the right to use the content you provide.
You agree not to:
- Use the App for an unlawful purpose or to violate another person's rights
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Interfere with the App, its proxy, or its upstream services
- Submit content that you do not have permission to process
- Circumvent subscription, word, rate, or security limits
Kiku Pro Subscription
Using Kiku requires an active Kiku Pro subscription or an eligible free trial. There is no ongoing free tier. Kiku Pro includes reading, annotation, synchronization, and AI text-to-speech features subject to service availability and the limits below. Kiku Pro is available as monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscriptions.
Pricing and word limit
- Monthly: $29.99 USD per month
- Yearly: $159.99 USD per year
- Kiku Pro allowance: 200,000 AI text-to-speech words per month
Prices may vary by region, taxes, and Apple storefront rules. The App displays the applicable price and renewal terms before purchase. The word allowance resets according to the subscription period and unused words do not carry over. Words are counted when audio is generated, not when it is played.
Trial, billing, and cancellation
Eligible new subscribers may receive a 14-day free trial. Unless canceled before the trial ends, the selected subscription renews and Apple charges the displayed price. Trial eligibility and the exact renewal terms are shown before purchase. Payment is processed through your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings; cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current period. Apple controls refund decisions.
AI Processing and Voice Cloning
Kiku sends document text through its Cloudflare proxy to third-party AI services, including Inworld AI, when you request text-to-speech or content filtering. If you use voice cloning, you authorize Kiku to record and send a microphone sample through the proxy so Inworld can create a custom voice model. The Privacy Policy describes these flows and the providers involved. By using an AI feature, you acknowledge that the required input is transmitted for that feature and may be processed under the provider's terms.
Use voice cloning only with your own voice or with permission from the speaker. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unavailable. Kiku does not guarantee that generated audio, filtering, or voice models will meet a particular quality or purpose.
The temporary recording is deleted from the device after a successful clone response. A provider-hosted voice model may persist. Removing a custom voice from Kiku clears the local identifier; email zandmanv8@gmail.com to request deletion of the provider-hosted model.
Your Content and Cloud Storage
You retain ownership of documents, annotations, notes, recordings, and other content you import or create. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to use and process that content. Apple iCloud can synchronize Kiku data across your devices. If you enable Google Drive backup, Kiku uploads flattened PDF copies to the Google Drive account you authorize. Those services are subject to their own terms and controls.
Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, features, and original content, is owned by Zander Modaress-Razavi and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-transferable license to use the App while you have access to it.
Availability and Disclaimers
THE APP, AI SERVICES, CLOUD SYNCHRONIZATION, AND GENERATED OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THEY WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR SUITABLE FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES MAY CHANGE OR BECOME UNAVAILABLE.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES.
Changes and Termination
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, service changes, or a material breach of these Terms. Ending access does not change rights or obligations that accrued before termination.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the applicable laws of the state where the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise.
